Head of Corporate Tax - $250-300k + 20%

Our client, a global organization, is looking to hire a strategic and results-oriented Head of Tax . This critical leadership position will drive all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting across U.S. operations while playing a key role in the company’s global tax strategy. Reporting into Senior Finance Leadership, the Head of Tax will serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and be responsible for optimizing the organization’s tax posture, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with evolving domestic and international regulations. ***2 days onsite, 3 days remote

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s overall U.S. tax strategy, including federal, state, local, and international tax compliance, planning, and reporting.
• Oversee tax provision and reporting processes in accordance with GAAP and statutory requirements.
• Manage the preparation and filing of all U.S. federal and state income tax returns and ensure timely payment of tax liabilities.
• Act as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to executive leadership on tax matters including legislative and regulatory developments.
• Partner with internal finance, actuarial, and legal teams as well as external auditors, consultants, and tax authorities.
• Evaluate and improve processes, controls, and documentation related to tax operations.
• Support M&A activities, including tax due diligence, structuring, and post-deal integration.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of tax professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive tax experience, ideally within highly regulated industries (insurance, financial services, banking, healthcare, or life sciences)
• Proven leadership of corporate tax functions with both technical and operational tax responsibilities.
• CPA preferred
• Deep understanding of U.S. tax law and regulatory frameworks, with exposure to international tax matters.
