Job Description

Willamette Valley Vineyards, a leading producer of world-class wines, is looking to expand our team with a dedicated and knowledgeable Winery Ambassador to help us connect with wine enthusiasts and customers at our Estate winery just south of Salem. This role is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in wine while driving sales and building lasting customer relationships.

Position Overview:

As a Winery Ambassador, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our exceptional wine portfolio to both new and existing customers. The role will involve a strong focus on outbound phone sales, where you will spend approximately 70% of your time engaging with potential customers, educating them about our wines, and helping to drive direct-to-consumer sales. The remaining time will be dedicated to customer support, wine education, and guiding customers through our elevated estate experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outbound calls to potential customers, wine club members, shareholders, and retail partners to promote and sell wine.
  • Utilize your wine knowledge and certifications to educate customers on the wines, tasting notes, pairings, and winemaking process.
  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients and ensure repeat business by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Manage and track sales leads and customer interactions through CRM software.
  • Participate in virtual and in-person wine tastings, events, and promotions to expand our customer base.
  • Provide feedback to the sales team and marketing department to help shape sales strategies.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs.

Qualifications :

  • WSET, CSW, or similar wine certifications are preferred.
  • 2-3 years successful experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport over the phone.
  • A passion for wine and a deep knowledge of varietals, regions, and winemaking techniques.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Experience with CRM systems, sales tracking software, and Google Applications.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, solution-oriented, and goal-oriented.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be available to work on weekends AND on-site winery events, as most events are held over holiday weekends, such as Memorial Day and Thanksgiving.
  • Must have a valid OLCC permit and Food Handlers Permit or ability to obtain before a start date.
  • Must have highly developed organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to build team dynamics and synergy across departments, and optimize resource potential.
  • Must be able to communicate through active listening skills and gather accurate insights to human behavior.
  • Must be independently motivated to generate sales for Willamette Valley Vineyards.
  • Must be able to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Must be team focused and be ready and willing to reasonably assist in other areas of the business as needed.
  • Respond to customer requests (phone calls, emails, chats, etc.) within 24 hours except for days off and vacation.
  • Other duties not outlined may be required as needed.
