The Arthur D. Curtis Children’s Justice Center (CJC) is a nationally accredited center for child victims of felony-level abuse. The Victim Advocate provides trauma-informed support and information to children and families from forensic interview through case closure, helps families understand investigative and court processes, participates in multidisciplinary case reviews, accompanies children to medical appointments and court proceedings, connects families with resources, advocates for victims’ rights, and maintains detailed case documentation. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, counseling, or related field, at least 1 year of direct victim advocacy experience, understanding of child abuse dynamics and trauma-informed care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Bilingual Spanish/English skills are highly valued. The position is full-time or part-time with benefits, union represented, and involves working with a multidisciplinary team including law enforcement, prosecutors, social workers, forensic interviewers, and other victim advocates. Duties include crisis assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, victim advocacy services, community referrals, court accompaniment, restitution advocacy, and participation in MDT case reviews. The position requires maintaining case notes and preparing reports. The salary range is $29.69 - $40.08 per hour.
