Job Description

Slack is adding a Senior Product Manager to our Growth team! The team is responsible for helping over 1 million teams each year successfully adopt Slack, across our $1B+ self-service and enterprise businesses. Slack is a leader in product-led growth, with one of the largest paid customer bases in enterprise software, including hundreds of thousands of recurring paid teams. You will aim to 10x the Slack paid customer base, shaping the company's growth and establishing Slack as the 'productivity platform' for all types of work. The PM's key responsibilities include: Helping users deepen their relationship with Slack by increasing adoption of core features, building healthy habits, and facilitating team expansion. Developing and executing strategies to retain and grow existing Slack teams. Collaborating with Lifecycle Marketing and Data Science teams to create comprehensive engagement and retention strategies. You will deliver a best-in-class experience through close collaboration with technical, business, and external teams. This role requires a hands-on, technically savvy PM who excels at identifying user problems and making strategic prioritization decisions based on long-term user and business value. You should be able to measure and interpret results, navigate complex systems, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues. You will work alongside top engineers and designers, managing multiple projects simultaneously and on schedule. Slack fosters a positive, diverse, and supportive culture. What you will be doing: Developing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Slack’s self-serve retention and engagement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Creating exceptional user experiences that increase awareness and engagement with Slack’s key features, driven by deep user empathy and attention to detail. Defining, understanding, and improving key funnels and metrics. Becoming an authority on your product area by identifying customer needs and business opportunities through research, feedback, and competitive analysis. Owning features and experiments end-to-end, including writing specifications, coordinating execution, making product decisions, and sharing insights. Driving execution in partnership with Engineering and Design, managing trade-offs, staffing, risks, and communication. Collaborating with leaders across product, engineering, finance, and operations, as well as external partners and customers. Executing quickly with a focus on delivering impactful results to customers. What you should have: 3-5+ years of experience leading major product initiatives in consumer or direct-to-customer businesses. The ability to translate broad themes and ideas into detailed roadmaps of features, experiments, and research. Deep customer empathy and a meticulous approach to product craft. An ownership mentality, accountability, and experience in hybrid SMB or consumer growth environments. A data-informed, experiment-driven approach to optimize learning, including designing, running, and interpreting experiments and A/B tests. Technical capability to engage with details, while also maintaining strategic oversight. A portfolio approach to product management, balancing high-upside bets with quick wins.
