Job Title: Robotics Software Engineer

Work Location: Fremont, CA On-site (Flexibility available)

Shift: Day shift

Rate: $90 to $100/hr on W2

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a talented and motivated Robotics Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing solutions in computer vision, robotic path planning, and human-machine interfaces. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to design, test, and troubleshoot special application end effectors on 6-axis robots.
• This position offers a fast-paced, start-up-like environment, requiring high bandwidth, organization, and a proactive, hands-on approach to engineering and prototyping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop robotic path programming and computer vision solutions
• Collaborate in the design, build, testing, and troubleshooting of robotic systems
• Design and implement user interfaces for robotic systems
• Create infrastructure for managing and analyzing data from robots and vision systems
• Primarily work onsite in the lab
• Travel occasionally (several times per year)
• Take full ownership of tasks and projects, including release and hand-off
• Apply engineering methods to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues (e.g., 8D process)
• Design and conduct experiments to solve complex problems
• Generate reports and present technical recommendations clearly
• Act as liaison on cross-functional projects
• Implement process control techniques (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping) to improve production efficiency
• Provide training and mentoring to other engineers

Qualifications:

• BS/MS/PhD in Robotics or a related field
• 10–15 years of relevant work experience
• Strong background in robotics and computer vision
• Proficient with Git and collaborative software development
• Creative, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Able to work independently and manage individual projects
• Solid understanding of statistical process control and data analysis
• Experience with machine/deep learning
• Familiarity with the following technologies:
• Programming languages: Python, SQL, JavaScript (React)
• Libraries/Frameworks: OpenCV, TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Web API/SDK development
• Bonus: Experience in mechanical engineering
