Position: Fitness Program Manager (Part-Time, 20 hrs/wk) Location: Washington, DC | Posted: 2 Days Ago | Job Requisition ID: 103100 We are seeking an entry-level Fitness Program Manager to oversee all operational aspects of a small, on-site fitness program at our client site in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include managing program participation, results, customer satisfaction, ensuring contract compliance, developing strategic plans, designing and facilitating health and fitness programs, and handling administrative duties such as reporting and data management. The role also involves instructing fitness programs, providing floor supervision, and conducting fitness testing and orientations. Key Responsibilities Manage all program activities according to HealthFitness standards. Develop and implement annual strategic business plans, manage budgets, and ensure policy compliance. Maintain client relationships to ensure high satisfaction and reinforce HealthFitness value. Implement and oversee fitness programs, health education, motivational activities, and events; coordinate marketing efforts. Track and analyze participant and program data; generate management reports; ensure data confidentiality. Perform safety checks and audits regularly. Supervise staff activities, including fitness testing, orientations, and class instruction; ensure facility maintenance. Coordinate with the Director to introduce new programs, products, and services. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, or related field, or equivalent experience and certifications. At least 2 years of industry-related experience. Recognized Group Exercise certification (ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, or NETA); certification must be obtained within 30 days if not current. Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from recognized organizations, with in-person components. Ability to manage and operate a fitness center effectively. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with motivational abilities. Organizational and prioritization skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
