_*Corporate Legal Specialist (Paralegal) – In-House Focus | HYBRID | Portland, OR*_
Our client, a leading energy supplier and community-focused utility headquarters in *Portland, Oregon*, is seeking a *Corporate Legal Specialist (Paralegal)* to support their Corporate Legal or Business Integrity team on a temporary basis. This hybrid role (3 days onsite per week) is ideal for a *corporate-focused paralegal* with strong organizational skills and a background in *in-house legal* support, legal operations, and regulatory compliance. This position will play a key role in supporting business-critical legal matters and requires someone with experience navigating the complexities of a *corporate legal environment*. Candidates with in-house legal department experience will be prioritized, as the role involves close collaboration with internal business units and enterprise-wide initiatives. * *Contract Duration:* 12 months.
* *Pay Range:* $44.00 – $50.00/hr. DOE.
*Key Responsibilities for Legal Specialist (Paralegal):*
* Provide litigation support, including coordination with outside counsel, document review, and case tracking.
* Assist with discovery processes by collecting, organizing, and producing documents in response to subpoenas and legal requests.
* Manage and maintain corporate legal filings, including business licenses, organizational documents, and foreign qualifications.
* Support due diligence and contribute to the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance documentation.
* Draft, review, and proofread legal correspondence, contracts, and internal communications.
* Organize and manage legal documentation using Microsoft Office tools and SharePoint.
* Collaborate closely with legal, compliance, and cross-functional business teams.
* Stay up to date with evolving legal subject matter areas relevant to the utility industry and corporate governance.
*Required Qualifications for Legal Specialist (Paralegal):*
* 3–7 years of paralegal experience supporting a corporate legal department or in-house legal function is required.
* Direct experience in corporate, securities, or finance law is highly preferred.
* Background in both law firm and in-house settings is acceptable, with a strong preference for in-house/corporate legal experience.
* Bachelor’s degree or completion of an accredited paralegal program is preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
* Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, business-driven environment.
* Self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively across departments.
