Job Description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. As Carrier C2 Integration Lead you will work with many different disciplines to develop unmanned aircraft command and control integration approaches with Navy ship- and carrier-based platforms. You will analyze and decompose requirements and perform trades to influence design, analysis, and testing. You will collaborate with the customer and work with platform and ground segment design teams to inform integration into the carrier environment including approaches to launch and recovery, deck handling, MD-5 Ground Control Station (GCS) integration, communication modes with the ship (including EMCON), and carrier qualification testing. Where applicable, you will work to tailor requirements with data-driven decisions and customer collaboration. This will enable rapid and more-informed design, analysis, and system-level trade studies to develop and deliver a safe and effective weapon system. The right person for this role has thorough knowledge of shipboard aircraft requirements and procedures, carrier-based manned or unmanned aircraft development and integration experience, and military or civilian experience working on a U.S. Navy carrier or surface vessel, preferably related to aircraft integration, deck handling, and / or test. If you are someone who has this combination of skills and experience, then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Integration of Carrier-based aircraft C2 with new platforms, including but not limited to system requirements, design, analysis, test, validation, and support from conceptual design through deployment. Work with program and engineering leadership to help understand requirements and influence design, analysis, and testing to ensure aircraft carrier compatibility, suitability, and qualification. Work with program and engineering leadership and collaborate with customer principals to ensure that development and test activities address flight certification requirements and progress in a manner that prepares for and reduces risk of obtaining appropriate AW and CYBERSAFE certificates. Positively influence design, analysis, and test decisions with data-driven trades and tailoring of carrier suitability requirements that impact design complexity, weight, performance, cost, and schedule. Work with cross-IPT disciplines such as Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Systems Safety, Configuration Design, Mass Properties, Propulsion, Aerodynamics/Performance, GNC (Guidance, Navigation & Controls), Loads & Dynamics, Airframe, Subsystems (Landing / Arresting Gear, Mechanisms, Fuel, Hydraulics, Electrical, Flight Controls), Survivability, Mission Systems, Manufacturing, and Test.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

BS or higher degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Information Technology, and/or Computer Science. Thorough knowledge of carrier suitability requirements and procedures that drive aircraft design, integration, and test. Must hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance. Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BS or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering. Familiarity with deriving weapon system and aircraft requirements based on current and legacy Navy documents such as SD-24M, NAEC-MISC-06900, and JSSG. Military or civilian experience working on a U.S. Navy carrier, preferably related to aircraft integration, deck handling, and / or test. Experience in design, integration, and/or test of U.S. Navy carrier-based aircraft. Experience in multiple phases of carrier-based aircraft development, such as conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, EMD, production, and sustainment. Experience and working knowledge of DoD flight clearance and airworthiness certification processes. Experience and ability to positively influence design, analysis, and test decisions with data-driven trades and tailoring of carrier suitability requirements that impact design complexity, weight, performance, cost, and schedule. Works diligently to make continuous progress, maintains a positive attitude, is optimistic and pragmatic. US Salary Range: $154,000 - $231,000 USD. The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
