Medequip is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, client-oriented and patient focused salesperson for our San Diego County territory. This is a tremendous opportunity for career growth in medical sales. Primary Responsibilities: The Associate Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the sales manager in achieving and exceeding sales goals by developing new accounts, growing, and managing existing customers and promoting Medequips products and services to orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine doctors, pain management doctors, podiatrist, therapists, discharge managers and other potential customer/referral sources within a designated territory. Duties and Responsibilities: Consistently meet/exceed sales targets driven by key accounts, competitive conversions and growth from existing customer base within the territory. Collaborate with sales management on a regular basis to ensure a clear path to attaining and exceeding sales goals and activity level. Possess and effectively communicate clinical and product knowledge clearly and concisely. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of medical conditions and associated products and services provided by Medequip. Ability to build relationships with medical staff, physicians, clinicians, and mid-level practitioners. Develop and manage accounts within the territory, primary call points include Orthopedic clinics, hospitals, surgery centers, urgent care clinics, skilled nursing and various Medical Centers. Establish new accounts via networking, prospecting and cold calling. Travel throughout assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers to solicit referrals. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to articulate insurance reimbursement guidelines for key products and services and train providers on requirements. Ability to establish and manage weekly call schedules, in-services per month relating to the products and services. Strong working relationship within the internal team of customer service, logistics, and billing staff. Patient Interaction Duties and Responsibilities: Understanding of the patient process and revenue cycle for all insurance payers: including the criteria to qualify patients under Medicare guidelines, and the required documentation. Understand private payer medical policy, insurance copays and deductibles. Patient post op follow up, communicate with physicians and therapists regarding patients as needed. Ability to determine appropriate equipment for individual patient needs. Able to demonstrate, train and communicate the proper use of the companys devices to patients Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelors degree or equivalent experience One year minimum of sales, Orthopedic Medical Sales a benefit Self-Motivated Sales Focused Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing Patient Service Oriented High sense of urgency Ability to learn orthopedic conditions, treatments, products. Understanding on DMEPOS insurance reimbursement a plus Ability to work remotely, travel to medical offices, clinics patients home as needed. A valid drivers license, automobile insurance, and clean driving record Able to travel within the assigned territory, generally a 23-hour radius. Must be able to travel by the employees vehicle daily Open to obtain the necessary immunizations and the records required to gain access to the facilities within assigned territory Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Able to lift 30-40 pounds Able to kneel, stoop, climb stairs and reach with hands and arms Able to travel to healthcare facilities and visit patients in the assigned territory Full time compensation is a combination of base salary plus commission, car allowance, benefits.
